War
War
Amanda Fleming
How
can this happen?
After I go back to 9-11 all I can think about
Is
how the soldiers are risking their lives for
everybody.
In
my heart I say,
“What did I ever do for them?”
That
is when I realize that I can do more.
Much, more.
I may
be a just a teenager,
But
I know that I can help the soldiers in
need.
I
wish upon a star every night,
And
say, “Please bring them home safely.”
I
pray for the ones who have died for me.
I
pray for the ones who fight for me.
And
I pray for the families, who have a loved one,
Fighting in this horrible war.
This
horrible war that is tearing families,
And
lives apart.
But
we are stronger than they are.
The
United States,
When
really and truly is united,
It
has a soul,
And
that soul speaks to the soldiers and tells them not
to quit.
And
in those words, there is strength.
I
would like to dedicate this poem to my father, whom
is in the Air Force, and has fought at Desert Storm,
and luckily not in this present one. And also to my
friends who have families in the war. May God be
with you and your family. |
