Airpower In Action

Filed under: Military Stuff — James Fleming @ 1:46 am

The current air operations in the Middle East are fascinating to watch.  The IDF has paid attention to modern air power theories.  From what I can tell they are taking a page straight from Colonel John Warden’s ideas of hitting the enemies Centers of Gravity (COG).  Their operations are utilizing surgical strikes on suspected and known terrorist targets.  They have reported several hundred targets and have been hitting them in accordance with Warden’s theories.  They quickly paralyzed Lebanon and the terrorists by destroying key transportation links and infrastructure targets.  The effectiveness of their attacks is seen by the difficutlies nations are having evacuating their citizens.  The IDF is using ISR resources to maximum effect and have begun to introduce ground forces, which I am sure is to help give the air forces more targets.

17 Years and Counting

21 July 2006 - My 17th Wedding Anniversary.  WOW!  It hardly seems like it was 17 years ago when Melisa and I got married.  I had just completed Tech School and was enroute to Offutt Air Force base in Nebraska.  I was 19, she was 18.  Now, we have three awesome children, 14, 11 and 5.  I could not ask for a better wife or friend in Melisa.  She is my soulmate and I love her with all my being.  Thank you Melisa for the last 17 years, and I am looking forward to the next 17 years!
